Nursing
Weronika Nawara
I chose nursing because I had always dreamed of working in close contact with people. Nurses I encountered throughout my life also had a strong influence on my decision—they challenged many stereotypes about the profession that I had previously absorbed from society.
To ensure the highest quality of education and professional preparation, the Nursing programme offers students a modern curriculum, highly experienced academic staff with strong scientific achievements, state-of-the-art skills laboratories for simulated nursing practice, and access to leading healthcare institutions—primarily the University Hospital—where practical training is conducted. The programme prepares graduates for employment in both public and private healthcare institutions, as well as for running independent nursing practices, providing medical and nursing services, health education, and preventive counseling, including home-based patient care. Graduates obtain the right to practice the profession, granted by the professional self-government body, based on a diploma from an institution accredited by ational Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (KRASzPiP).
Graduates may pursue careers in healthcare institutions or operate private nursing practices. Completion of second-cycle (Master’s) studies further expands professional competencies, including patient care after endoscopic procedures, chronic disease management, patient education, referral for diagnostic tests, prescription of medications, and issuing orders for medical devices. Additionally, graduates find employment in public administration, professional self-governments, research teams, higher education institutions as academic teachers and researchers, professional training centers, or as entrepreneurs.
The Nursing programme has consistently ranked first in the Perspektywy Degree Programme Rankings from 2019 to 2025. The programme is offered by the Institute of Nursing and Midwifery. For inquiries, please contact: instpiel@cm-uj.krakow.pl
