W dniu 8 maja rozpoczynają się ogólnouczelniane konsultacje „Strategii klimatyczno-ekologicznej UJ 2030”, dokumentu mającego na celu wyznaczenie kierunków rozwoju Uczelni w zakresie ograniczania szkodliwego działania na klimat i przyrodę.

Strategia została przygotowana w zgodzie z aktualną wiedzą naukową i misją Uczelni przez powołaną w 2021 r. przez Rektora UJ Radę Klimatyczną.

Kolejnym krokiem jest skonsultowanie tej propozycji z całą społecznością akademicką, tak aby w jak największym stopniu reprezentowała ona priorytety nas wszystkich, zwłaszcza w omawianych przez Strategię kwestiach takich jak infrastruktura, zarządzanie zasobami i kultura organizacyjna UJ, w tym promowania wartości i standardów zachowań wspólnoty akademickiej przyjaznych dla klimatu i bioróżnorodności. W ankiecie konsultacyjnej znalazło się także miejsce do zgłoszenia uwag i sugestii, które warto uwzględnić na poziomie całej uczelni, konkretnych jednostek, a także działań indywidualnych.

Consultation of the ‘Jagiellonian University Climate and Ecology Strategy 2030’

On May 8, University-wide consultations will begin on the  ‘Jagiellonian University Climate and Ecology Strategy 2030,’ a document aimed at setting the university’s development directions for reducing its harmful effects on climate and environment.

The Strategy was prepared in line with current research and the university’s mission by the Climate Council, established in 2021 by the Rector of Jagiellonian University. 

The next step is to consult the entire academic community on this proposal so that it represents the priorities of all of us as much as possible, especially in the areas discussed by the Strategy, such as infrastructure, resource management, and organizational culture at JU, including the promotion of climate and biodiversity-friendly values and behavioral standards of the academic community. The consultation survey also provides space for comments and suggestions worth considering at the university-wide, specific unit, and individual levels.

The survey is anonymous, and its results will be used only for research purposes as well as to improve the climate policy of Jagiellonian University. It will take about 15 minutes to complete it. However, prior knowledge is unnecessary to complete this survey.
